Jim Sullivan

I was born and grew up in Texas and have been interested in art most of my life. After graduating High School and one year of college, I served in the US Army for 20 years. Upon retirement from the Army in 1976, I finished 3 semesters at The Academy of Arts College in San Francisco, CA. There I received some very valuable academic drawing instruction. Then my family obligation required me to go to work; but continued pursuing art when possible.
In 1994, my wife andI retired to Oklahoma. Here, I built a small studio and can pursue my art more often. Maintaining a house and large vegetable garden does require some scheduling.
I appreciate all kinds of art but lean more to realism. I work mostly in oil, but recently have been learning egg tempera and gold leaf. My paintings include still life, portraiture, figurative and animals.
