Ken Owen

Ken Owen  has been drawing since he first discovered, as a child, that a pencil would leave a mark on a piece of paper. He is mostly self-taught, though he has studied the arts at several universities.

For many years he worked as a graphic artists and editorial cartoonist for General Motors and the United Auto Workers. He is now retired and is concentrating all his time and effort to a career in the arts.

Ken said, “I believe the artist reaches closer to the heart of God than anyone else, for God is the original artist. He is the Creator of creativity. As Andre Gide said, ‘Art is collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better.’ When I am lost in the process of creating, I feel as though I am holding hands with God, or rather He is directing my hands and guiding my thoughts. For me, it is truly a spiritual collaboration.”
