Yvonne Evans

Yvonne Evans is a native Oklahoman, having lived in Norman, Oklahoma for the past 25 years. Her art career began in elementary school and first oil painting lessons began with the late Richard Goetz. She has since majored in fine art at the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha and the University of Oklahoma. Now retired from O.U., she has had the opportunity to study with noted artists such as Carol Armstrong, David Leffel, Craig Tennant, Jeffrey Watts, Bob Kuhn, and Gregg Kruetz. Her work covers a variety of subjects, but focuses mainly on the human figure striving for realistic images while attempting to maintain a painterly fashion.
"Nothing excites me more than the human figure. I am striving to put down on canvas an image that provokes a particular "emotion," a "feeling," or perhaps a "recollection" of the past."
She has participated in numerous art competitions in Oklahoma and Texas, and won several awards, including two “Best of Shows.” Her work is in private collections. She is a member of the Firehouse Art Center, Oklahoma Art Guild, Duncan Art Guild, and past member of the Pastel Society of the Southwest. evans.yvonne@sbcglobal.net
