MissionHill is a place, a concept and a vision devoted to the visual, dance, and music arts in Norman, Oklahoma and the surrounding area. Its purpose is to bring together artists representing a variety of creative approaches in a focused way to increase community, understanding, and sharing of their work, talents and skills.
There are two core activities for MissionHill:
A random schedule of atHome performances featuring various Musicians. Also the work of approximately 2-4 artists representing various mediums. With the inclusion of Art, Music, Dance, Performance, and Film, MissionHill will provide an up close and intimate relationship with the Artists and the Audience. and ___________________________________________________________________
The first Artists' Open Studio at Mission Hill was a resounding success thanks to the efforts of the participants and the generosity of the many visitors. In addition to viewing the art and listening to the music, everyone enjoyed seeing MissionHill, the home of Dan and Rosalyn West, while partaking of good food and fine wine. Keep an eye on this web site to learn of future events as well as using it as a way to see what your favorite artists are doing as they update their web pages.

MissionHill's first atHome concert was a night to remember... Nathan Brown was fantastic, a personable gem, who shared a blend of Music, Poetry, and Art. with true heartfelt emotion. Asia Scudder, Jim Cobb and Ashley Stanberry gave the audience an experience of Art with their pieces shown throughout the home. O Asian Fusion, Dara Marie's, and Rosalyn, helped top off the night with Asian cuisine, cookies, and punch to die for. The moral of the story is – Don't Miss the next atHome experience... ________________________________________________________
Dan, thank you and your wife Ros for providing such a nice evening at Mission Hill. Many of my friends showed up - I was encouraged for us both. jim __________ Anytime I can listen to Nathan or, even better, chat with him is bound to be a great time! Lila Stevens __________
Thank you so much for the show! My daughter took a class with Nathan and he is the one who invited us. We wished it would have started at 7:00 so that we could have stayed for the entire program, but we had another engagement that evening. At least we got to visit with Nathan and hear him play for a while, not to mention looking at the beautiful art of the other two talented artists. We look forward to coming to more of these programs in the future. I try to expose my children to various art and culture and this is such a marvelous way to give them variety. Thanks again and God bless! Karen Littlefield __________
Thank you so much for doing this. I, too, thought I'd done something wonderful for Norman when I started the first Indian restaurant in this state! And the best thing is, 29 years later it is still here!!!
I loved the program and would like to attend as many as I can. Best of luck for the future. Neelam Misal __________
I enjoyed the show. The art, photography, painting, and performances. Nice concept and a nice relaxing evening of entertainment.

I really enjoyed the show -- Nathan's new music and poetry were wonderful and thought-provoking as always. I especially enjoyed the blending of art forms -- music, poetry, photography, sculpture, paintings, as well as the ambiance and architecture of your home. What a lovely experience! Thank you so much for making it possible.

MissionHill's second atHome concert was (you guessed it) another night to remember... Maggie McClure opened her performance up to an intimate one on one with the MissionHill audience. Sharing history of her composing and lyrics. Also revealing pieces to be featured on her upcoming album to be produced in January of 2010. Look for it if your a Maggie fan, it promises to be one of her best to date. Which brings us to John Calvin who opened for Maggie and turned his acoustic guitar and various foot pedals into an orchestral phenomenon. During intermission voices throughout MissionHill rang praises for the genius that is John Calvin; the absolute pure definition of BRAVO. Sue Schofield, Cheri Tatge, and Emily Fine were the featured artists for the evening. Several comments from the people attending were very impressed with all three. The Food and Drink was great, as expected, from Charlestons, Riverwind, Abbey Road, and Dara Maries. Over all – Five stars _______________________________________________________
Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. I was sorry I had to leave early. However the 6 year old was getting restless. Maggie is his piano teacher and we enjoy watching and listening to her perform. I liked the intimate setting. Karla Acton _________
I thought the performances were wonderful. It was a delightful, intimate and comfortable setting. Maggie's talent has bloomed to a magnificent level, yet there is such a vast amount of people that still need to feel the pure beauty of her voice and music. I loved to hear the inspirations behind her songs to capture the true meaning. So much of the time, this is never known. Carolyn Laws _________
The show was great. I also enjoyed John Calvin a lot. He had a way with the Guitar to make it sound like 3 people were playing. I enjoyed Maggie singing and especially her answering all the question. the food was very good too. I hope Maggie got plentiful donations to help her. Glenda
